Therapeutic and Educational Residential Program for Adolescents
Who: Adolescents and young adults age 15 to 21 with social adaptation disorders, behavior troubles and other psychosocial problems, related or not to the abuse of alcohol or other drugs. Youth in this age range are referred from youth protection agencies, and their therapeutic program, including their education, is implemented in partnership with, and close monitoring by, the latter. (programs offered in Chile, Spain, Nicaragua)
How: The program offers intensive educational and therapeutic interventions in a residential setting that is especially designed to encourage the positive social development of adolescents and young adults.
The therapeutic team, the residential center, their peers and their own motivation are key elements to help them learn positive behavirors and develop protection factors critital to their personal identiy: self-esteem, self appreciation, conflict management, etc. The program is multi-facetted and comprises education, psychotherapy, free time management, etc.). Interventions can be individual or in a group setting.
Why: Socially vulnerable youth need an appropriate support and a positive perspective. The therapeutic process is based on their interests and assets.The Dianova Network
