Spain - La Caixa Foundation Helps Renovate Dianova's Santa Lucia Center

la caixaThe donation, which amounts 200,000 Euros, will be dedicated to completing the heavy work necessary for the makeover of the Santa Lucia center near Ambite (Madrid region). Santa Lucia offers a therapeutic and educational program that annually benefits more than 600 people struggling with substance abuse-related problems.

Dianova Joins the European Action on Drugs

logo eadThe European Action on Drugs works around a simple idea: since a huge number of people and organizations have roles to play in disseminating information and raising awareness about the risks of drugs abuse, particularly among young people, the European Commission is proposing that anyone who carries formal responsibility of some kind has decision-making powers.

Nicaragua: Club Dianova Espartinas, a Hotbed of Talent

Since its inception, the Las Marias Holistic Education Center has placed great emphasis on student sports. In Nicaragua, the latter represents a tool that is particularly appropriate to encouraging personal development and the adequate integration of youth. Las Marias center provided the country with many young sportsmen and sportswomen who have won a number of local and national competitions.

40th General Assembly of the Organization of American States in Lima (Peru)

Representatives from the 33 countries comprising the Organization of American States (OAS) convened in Lima, Peru on June 6-8, to discuss "Peace, Security and Cooperation in the Americas". Mr. Davide Brundu and Mr. Jordi Alos represented Dianova, along with members of other NGOs representing civil society.

A Review of the World Drug Report 2010

The World Drug Report 2010 exposes a serious insufficiency of drug treatment facilities around the world. The Report estimates that, in 2008, only approximately a fifth of problem drug users world-wide had received treatment in the past year, which means around 20 million drug dependent people that did not receive treatment

Spain - New Recycling Workshop Established at Santa Lucia Center

logo reciclajeThe "Recycling Difference" workshop, which is implemented in collaboration with Ecoembes, will help recycle packaging waste produced daily, and raise awareness of the need to preserve raw materials and energy, with the objective of helping to preserve the center's natural environment in the heart of the Vega del Tajuña region

Spanish City Council Supports Dianova's Campaign for Chile

drapeau chiliThe Spanish city council of Ambite, in the Madrid region, showed its support for a fundraising campaign to help rebuild the Dianova centers that were destroyed by Chile’s February 27th earthquake.  The city council made its various communication networks available to the representatives of Dianova to help them get appropriate media coverage and audience participation.

Web 2.0 and the Challenge of Digital Revolution

On June 15th to 16th, the Communication Departments of the Dianova network member organizations gathered in Castelldefels (Barcelona), on the premises of Dianova International, to attend a “Web 2.0” training course, including the use of social networks.

The training was conducted by Mr. Jaime Izquierdo, a web expert and consultant to Dianova International. After the training, some reflections.
