Vienna (Austria) August 2008 - Dianova International participated with 500 other non-governmental organizations in an unprecedented consultation which was destined to acknowledge the NGO's expertise and the importance of their contribution in the field of addictiont treatment and prevention. It is now of major importance for policy-makers to take them into account and benefit from their longstanding expertise.

“Considering this was the largest, most diverse, gathering of NGOs at UNODC, the level of professionalism, accountability and desire for consensus has been truly remarkable. It is clear that there are many different routes to be taken on this journey. But what is even clearer after these three days is that we all share a common destination. Our work here in Vienna has been diligent and will warrant serious consideration by the drug control agencies of the United Nations and Member States” Michel Perron, Chair of the Beyond 2008 Steering Committee and CEO, Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse.

Dianova is an international NGO with consultative status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC), operating in 11 countries of the Americas and Europe.
