may 2010 - the spanish bank "la caixa" helps to rebuild dianova centers in chile

The Spanish bank la Caixa has donated 5,200 euros to help rebuild Dianova Chile’s earthquake-damaged San Bernardo therapeutic community

caixaThe center had implemented a very successful therapeutic and educational residential program, the objective of which was to help mothers with dependent children, and/or pregnant women with substance-use-related problems, achieve self-reliance.The program had been recognized for “Best Practices” by the Economic and Social Council of the UN. Unfortunately, however, the project came to an end after the earthquake of February 27 severely damaged San Bernardo's center and other Dianova Chilean facilities nationwide.

This contribution will enable Dianova in Chile to begin to renovate and repair its various infrastructures that had been damaged by the quake, including water supply service, electrical installations and sanitation.

La Caixa's Social Program has been collaborating with Dianova's Spanish branch since 2004. It has helped finance several projects to improve the residents' quality of life in Dianova centers and implemented multi-role workshops and post-residential follow-up activities for young adults and adolescents
