june 2010 - italy - dianova launches new drug awareness campaign
In order to provide an adequate response to the need for strong prevention efforts, Dianova in Italy has launched a new social communications campaign with the motto, “In a world where everything is disposable, Dianova helps you avoid wasting your life and then throwing it away" (Non lasciamo solo chi butta via se stesso).
The campaign offers a clear, positive, comprehensive message to remind us that people are not "disposable" and that in a society which consumes too much and too quickly, including people as well as objects, it is critical to help those who are at-risk of becoming “throw-away people” because of drug dependence.
The campaign message was created by the communication agency ER-Creativi in prima linea.
It states, "Drug use has changed deeply within a decade, or I should say more aptly that the marketing of drugs has changed. Drugs are no longer presented as something bad, dirty and synonymous with degradation and failure. On the contrary, drug use has now become something appealing which reflects success and achievement. Drug use has become fashionable, and too many behaviors and cultural models demand that we be users of some kind of hard drugs.
“Dianova is dedicated to combatting this perspective through the new communications campaign, the objective of which is to offer a thought-provoking message, not only for those who use drugs, but also for policy-makers and all those having a public responsibility of some kind, whether it be social, cultural or political.”
